FCM (Faculty of Creative Multimedia) Beta trip 2005 !!!!!!!!
Oo...KKK.... We just got back from the 'FCM MDP1113 Beta Trip 2005' yesterday and ai... was it tiring. Maybe that's why I was always in a bad mood and didn't really get much sleep either.
It was fun and all, but it was the painting and the rain that was bothersome. We went to Cameron Highlands and we stayed at hotel 'Equatorial' which was at the very peak of the mountain. It was freezing but on some parts of the day it was tolerable :).
The view was great and even from the balcony of our room we could see the next town :D. There were many strawberry farms, flower nurseries, honey farms as well as vegetable farms around which sold fresh strawberries, vegetables, honey and plants.
There was quite a variety of flowers, cactuses, vegetables and products which could not be gotten in the city :). There was also the 'Boh' tea factory and plantation nearby which is worth a visit to tourists.
As we stayed at the hotel, alot of activities were held other than just doing work.
We had group performances (me and my friends were in group 18) (we did a show called 'The Fairy and the Puppets'), lucky draw, prize giving and free time to do shopping.
In my group, we made costumes out of newspapers and most of the group members started early in making them as me and my two roomies were asleep from 6 something pm to 12:30 am or so and only started at 1am something.
Once we started, we worked hard and finished only at around 4-5 something am or so.
After we were done, we cleared up the place for a rehearsal.
The characters were , a fairy (our group leader), a robot, a cat (my roomie , Kak Divine), a hawaiian dancer, a ballerina ( me :P(used to be a ballerina when I was younger)), a queen (my other roomie, Kak JulianaVenus), a mummy and a joker/clown.
Once were done, we cleared our costumes and went back to our rooms to get ready for breakfast which was at 7am-10am.
After breakfast, we started painting our landscape paintings. After a while, we were interrupted by rain, which was so heavy that we had to clear up and retreat to our rooms. It was then we were forced to finish them up without reference.
The third day was warmer and brighter. It was on this day we went to do our shopping. We went to the nearest town, which was Brinchang to do some shopping and after that we did the rest at a nearby market near our hotel.
We continued to paint our other paintings back at our room once we returned from shopping.
On this night, we had the lucky draw and prize-giving as well as the buffet dinner.
There were a few guest performances but only one didn't show, which was a performance by one of the lecturers :(.
On the last day, we had a critique session by the lecturers and after that we were allowed to pack as well as go for some last minute shopping. During breakfast, we had a singer whom stayed at the hotel or somewhere else that does daily performances every night, sing for us as we ate. He looked quite young and like he was from the Phillipines ( was quite cute, too).
He sang for us and for some reason, he clinged to our area and kept glancing at our table (where there was only me, kak divine and kak ju). He even told us that some the songs he was to sing for us were composed by him while in College. Even the head cook implied that we should special request a song, but we were too bashful :P and blushing, too.
Well I guess that's all the main bits. there was a photo session before boarding the busses (which were handled by some guards (one's name was Zack (why do I bother to remember him actually ? Maybe I was childish when getting my camera back from him) )
I guess that's all ... oh wait.. there's one last thing I can't forget. It's the bumpy ride up and down the highlands. It was so bumpy and rickety-rockety that some of us were thrown forward or backwards during the whole ride.
Well... That's all folks and now here are the photos...:
The great view :D :
